  14. Does anyone know what sort of speeds the CIA chips can handle from the mouse
  15. or joystick ports ?

  17. I presume that the mouse fires pulses into the port fairly rapidly for its
  18. movement but I don't know if it would be fast enough for my needs.

  20. My idea is to use the joystick port as a simple serial type port but I really
  21. need it to run at 1200bps. Is this sort of speed possible and what is the
  22. theoretical maximum speed you can toggle one of the switches ?

  24. If it is possible then the ideal solution would be a device which could be
  25. used just like the original serial.device, can anyone point me in the
  26. direction of something like this which already exists or even some source on
  27. creating devices please.
